ELEMENTOS PARA EL MONITOREO DE LA FLORA Y LA VEGETACIÓN

Abstract

The monitoring of the flora and vegetation is priority to know the changes in the composition of the flowers and the structure of the forest, to determine the mortality and the survival of the species, to measure the loss of the wooded coverage, and to determine the changes in the abundance and the dominance and of other variables of different taxa. In order that the monitoring can be valid, it has to be to medium and long term. For it, different methodologies have been developed; nevertheless, the most usual thing is to use transects or permanent plots of different forms and sizes, and the election depends on the intention and aims of the monitoring, as well as on the personnel, logistics and financing that it can have it.
