FLORA Y FAUNA EN LAS ARTESANÍAS COFÁN, SÁBALO SUCUMBIOS - ECUADOR
Abstract
The Cofán community of Sábalo, is located in the shore of Aguarico’s river, area of influence of the Reserve of Fauna’s Producción of Cuyabeno, province of Sucumbíos, coordinates 00°22.00'S-75°39.23’W, altitude 300m, zone of life humid tropical forest, vegetable trainings: Varzea, igapo, moretal and forest of hills. In March of the year 2007, 2008 and May, 2009, the community was visited for the accomplishment of studies of diversity and etnobotanic. During our stay like part of the exhibition and marketing of the crafts, as well as the botanical study, it was established the taxonomy of the vegetable and animals species used in the elabo Cinchonia Vol. 10, # 1, 2010 83 ration of the same ones for part of the members of the Cofán community of Sábalo. 43 elements were registered: of these 35 are vegetables, 7 are animals and one is synthetic. The vegetables constitute 20 trees, 7 shrubs, 5 herbs and 4 lianas; 18 are seeds, 6 leaves, 5 fruits, 1 fiber, petiole, root and rhizome. Of the animals, it can use: the wax, fangs, shell, elytrons, thorn and hooves, whereas lite synthetic mullos of plastic. 8 products were admitted, the necklaces are the elements of the forest more recognized with 25 species, followed by adornments of hunt with 11, coloring 8, woven 3, fiber 2, basket, rope and comb 1. Some important species are: Arrabidaea chica, Astrocaryum chambira. Attalea maripa, Canna jaegeriana, Ceiba pentandra, Chrysophyllum venezuelanense, Coix lacryma-jobi, Curcuma loriga, Genipa americana. Guadua angustifolia, Hevea guianensis. Heteropsis flexuosa, Iriartea deltoidea, Ochroma pyramidale, Ormosia amazónica, Parkia multijuga, Paullinia brentberlinii, Picramnia sellowii, Renealmia alpinia, Sapindus saponaria, Simira cordifolia, Coendú bicolor, Felis onca, Pécari tajacu and Serrasalmus spp. The ecotourism and conservation in Sábalo are a reality. They are activities made from the Community initiative and with the support of some committed groups. They contribute with the development of alternative of a healthy environment
