Abstract

The Archaeological Ecological Park Rumipamba (PAER), it is located in the city of Quito, between the avenues Occidental and Mariana de Jesus, the geographical coordinates are 00°10.44’S - 78°30.07’W, altitude 2.921 m.s.n.m., it is an humid mountainous bushes vegetable formation, zone of life humid Mountainous Low forest. The investigation of field and laboratory, it was realized by several occasions between December, 2001 and February, 2011, the botanical samples h are deposited in the Alfredo Paredes Herbarium(QAP) of the Central University of the Ecuador. There were registered 179 species that correspond to 146 kinds and 71 families, for the habit 89 are grasses, 46 shrubs, 26 trees, 13 veins, 3 epiphytes, 1 parasitic and 1 liana; chord to the status 110 are natives, 61 are introduced ones and 8 are endemics. The park, due to its geographical special location, the archaeological and ecological resources that it possesses, it is a green ideal space of the Metropolitan District destined for the conservation, investigation, environmental education and natural scattering
