La flora del cerro Guayabillas, Ibarra-Imbabura

Abstract

The Guayabillas Hill is located on the South Eastern side of the city of Ibarra, Imbabura province, coordinates 00° 20 27’n 78 ° 06 24’W, 2.326 m.s.n.m., plant training dry montane scrub and humid montane scrub, is 54 hectares, mostly covered by the Myrtaceae “eucalyptus” Eucalyptus globulus and less “guayabilla” Psidium guinense. In order to know the plant species present in the loma Guayabillas, trails walked and photographically recorded in the months of June and August of the year 2016, some were collected and deposited in the Herbarium QAP, after their taxonomic identification. Recognized 125 species, 114 genres and 53 18 botanical families, the most common are: Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Poaceae, and Rosaceae, 1 specie corresponds to the Pinophyta division, 1 Lycopodiophyta, 2 Polypodiophyta and 121 Magnoliophyta; according to their habit: are 49 herbs, 31 trees, 22 shrubs, 8 veins, 6 subshrubs, 5 epiphytes, 1 creeper and 1parasitic; according to status, 65 are native, 57 introduced and 3 endemic (Croton coriaceus, Coursetia dubia y Eugenia valvata). Showed an equivalent of plants introduced in relation to the native ones, it’s somewhere nearby, decontamination and important vantage point of the city of Ibarra, therefore is should most enhance the spread of the plant “guayabilla” to which it owes its name, delete the inserted “eucalyptus”; prevent forest fires and accelerate the recovery of the forest through a restoration selective with native and endemic species of the place
