Abstract

The parish of Black river, belongs to the Baños'canton (Tungurahua’s province). The geographical coordinates of Black river are: 78°13'W - 01°24'S, approximate high of 1500m, zone of life very humid Pre-mountainous forest. In February, 2006, the field research was realized. By means of tours for the different places in the surroundings of the parish of Black river, the botanical collections were realized for herbarium and in attends in situ of seven native local informants. The process of dried and montage of the botanical samples was realized in the herbarium Alfredo Paredes (QAP). the taxonomical identification was done by Dr. Carlos Cerón in the QAP and National (QCNE) herbarium, a duplicate of the collection is deposited in QAP. There were registered 163 useful species. 143 genres and 75 families; 102 are native, 56 introduced and 5 endemic. File genetic corresponds to 6 divisions, most abundant it is Magnoliophyta with the class Magnoliopsida. The medicinal use registers more species, followed of ornamental, nourishing and madeira. The whole plant accumulates more registers, followed by the fruits, stem and leaf. The ones names are the majority, also there are two names; they are names Spanish mainly, but there are kichwa and español-kichwa names too.
