Abstract

In the 20th century, one of the great myths could well be the technocratic myth. Presented in this way, the technocratic myth is the latest avatar of a very old trend that explains history by the action of hidden forces and dubious characters who, behind the façade of official institutions and sometimes even to their detriment, are the real holders of power. After the courtiers, the favored, the Jesuits, the monks, the secret societies and many others, the technocrats would rule the world.
