Abstract
The following notes have the purpose of highlighting the fundamental characteristics of the students enrolled in the School of Economics of the Universidad Central del Ecuador; to highlight, to the extent that the information allows, the main trends observable in the evolution of student enrollment; and to explore the possible relationships or links existing between the particularities observed and the most evident transformations that have taken place in the country since the 1980s.
