Abstract
This article was scanned by the Aurelio Espinosa Polit Ecuadorian Library.
The experience of the so-called "four Asian tigers", South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, in industrial development is often cited as an example of the success of the export-oriented industrialization model in developing countries. Indeed, the economic and industrial growth of these nations, which was largely due to the dynamism of their external sales of manufactured goods, has been spectacular since the early 1970s, compared with all Third World countries and even with developed countries.
