Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
La ponencia que presentamos al Seminario “Situación y Desarrollo de la Universidad”, formulada bajo una visión retrospectiva, histórica-analítica, busca destacar la relación que existe entre la universidad y el movimiento estudiantil -su principal protagonista- con la lucha de la clase obrera y los sectores populares.
Pensamos que, revisar con las limitaciones propias de este tipo de trabajos la interrelación que a lo largo de nuestro desenvolvimiento republicano existe entre la universidad y los sectores populares, misma que tiene como telón de fondo a la lucha de clases, constituye una necesidad para que se comprenda el papel que cumple la universidad sin sobredimensionar su importancia en la lucha por la transformación social.
