Abstract

This article was scanned by the Aurelio Espinosa Polit Ecuadorian Library.
This article is part of a broader research project to analyze the nature of the Latin American integration processes, specifically LAFTA and the Andean Pact, the results obtained, and to try to demonstrate who the real beneficiaries of the expanded market have been, since the LAFTA regional scheme and the Andean subregional scheme do not break with the structure of the capitalist world market, but on the contrary are patterns of accumulation given the predominant integration process under the "baton" of transnational corporations, which are the ones that have ultimately monopolized production and integrated markets. This situation has led to the failure (results) of the integration processes, of which Ecuador is a part, basically due to the contradictions between the objectives proposed at the signing itself and the goals achieved to date.
