Abstract
En calidad de antiguo alumno graduado de Ud. Tuve interés, naturalmente, el leer la entrevista que UD. Concedió a “el Mercurio”, de Santiago de Chile. Conociendo el tipo de trabajo que Ud. Le ha dedicado a la economía y a los economistas de Chile durante casi dos décadas, no quedé particularmente sorprendido al leer su declaración en la que Ud. Dijo que, bajo la autoridad de la Junta Militar actual, “el país ha podido sacarse de encima un caos tan grande en tan poco tiempo y con relativamente poco costo”. Me gustaría examinar con Ud. Más de cerca este espectacular éxito y en especial el costo que significó para el pueblo.
