Abstract
When a wave of new products is unleashed, sooner or later accompanied by process changes, the cumulative effect of the two types of innovations is, at first, to expand reproduction. It should be remembered that process change, to the extent that it renders part of the fixed capital obsolete and requires its removal, also leads to the expansion of employment, mainly in sector I, and consequently of consumption with repercussions in sector II, etc. It is only when the process change is completed, which sometimes takes a few years, that its strict effects are felt. But, in the meantime, new products emerge, with their amplifying effects, etc., so that the rate of expansion of the reproductive process tends to accelerate more and more.
