Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
El Instituto de investigaciones Económicas de la Universidad Central del Ecuador (Editorial Universitaria, Quito, Ecuador, 1975) acaba de publicar este interesante libro que bajo el título de Ecuador: pasado y presente, nos enfrenta a una interpretación nueva del proceso social del Ecuador, ahora bajo la visión del materialismo histórico. Dentro de este contexto, seis investigadores y ensayistas de las nuevas generaciones ecuatorianas (que examinan e interpretan nuestro subdesarrollo en términos desarrollados), escriben sobre “La economía de la sociedad ‘primitiva’ ecuatoriana” (Leonardo Mejía), “La estructura económica de la Real audiencia de Quito” (Fernando Velasco), “De la independencia al auge exportador” (José Moncada), “Capitalismo y lucha de clases en la primera mitad del Siglo XX” (Alejando Moreano). “La crisis de los años 60” (Agustín Cueva) y “Hacia un subdesarrollo ‘moderno’” (René Báez).
