El sela, un desafío latinoamericano
Main Article Content
Abstract
The visionary aspiration of Bolivar's liberating genius could not be realized; his political and military efforts to achieve a united America failed to crystallize a sub-continent as a politically and economically united nation. A vast and rich territory was dispersed as a result, mainly due to local caudillismo and the imperialist interests of the time, Latin America became a multiplicity of nations, geographically large, medium and small. Underdevelopment and the permanent exploitation of their basic wealth, their monoproducing economies, made them weak.
