Abstract

This article was scanned by the Aurelio Espinosa Polit Ecuadorian Library.
More than once the dollar appears as the main character in the dramatic (or dramatized?) crisis of the international financial system. The idea of the dollar as a character is not only metaphorical: people, as well as the media, deal with the issue, the dollar and the other currencies seem endowed with their own will, they suffer and react in a similar way as human beings, in an explosion of fetishism that masks the real crisis in a dense atmosphere of mystery.
