Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
El Censo de noviembre de 1950 dio la cifra de 3 202 757 h. para todo el país, sobre un área geográfica de 270 670 km2, en cifra estimada, ya que la tragedia territorial de progresivo y continuo desmembramiento, aún no nos permite establecer el dato seguro y definitivo. La relación entre las dos cifras anotadas da una densidad de 11.8 h. por km2. En forma general, podemos afirmar que esta densidad es baja en relación con las posibilidades y recursos inexplotados actuales en tierras y en actividades de tipo industrial, que deben y pueden fomentarse.
