Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
Mucho y muy lucidamente se ha escrito sobre este tópico enfocándolo desde distintos ángulos. En el presente artículo se trata de hacer consideraciones prácticas, relacionadas especialmente con américa Latina, a la luz de los principios teóricos del comercio internacional y de la economía del bienestar.
La finalidad básica de una integración económica regional consiste en obtener una situación en la que el bienestar de ninguno de los participantes sufre menoscabo y al menos el de uno de dichos participantes alcanza un incremento. Naturalmente, esto no será posible sin un incremento del ingreso regional; para que una integración sea políticamente aceptable no será suficiente que mejore el bienestar de algún participante sino el de todos ellos.
