Abstract

The achievements of the European Economic Community in terms of tariff reduction and community spirit show positive progress. This is roughly the E.E.C.'s balance sheet on its tenth anniversary. However, the future trajectory of the European economy is less clear and less flattering. What is the shadow that is casting a shadow over the future of the European continent? The chilling answer is this: the economic colonization of Western Europe by the United States of America. But this is a question with a history.
