Abstract

Sponsored by the United Nations, UNCTAD II seeks to accelerate the economic development of countries through the implementation of new trade policies and the combined efforts of the international community. As a result of the efforts made between the dates of its sessions (1964-1968) are the so-called "crystallization" points or problems on which the adoption of practical resolutions was feasible. The United Nations General Assembly recommended that the Conference concentrate "on a limited number of fundamental and specific issues in order to achieve practical and specific results through negotiations aimed at reaching the broadest possible agreement".
