Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
El propósito de este estudio es el de compendiar información y analizar sucintamente el desenvolvimiento de la deuda pública del Ecuador en la última década, así como el curso que podría tomar en el futuro.
La deuda del gobierno central se trata en relación estrecha con su presupuesto. La deuda pública total -que comprende al gobierno central y otros organismos públicos autónomos- se considera sólo en cuanto la deuda externa incide en la balanza de pagos del país. Se dedica el último capítulo, por fin, a tratar de definir la tendencia secular de la deuda pública a mediano plazo.
