Antes de entrar a considerar el valor que tienen los índices de precios al por mayor, sus propósitos y alcances, veamos los objetivos y usos de las investigaciones de carácter estadístico en general, para todo país que está ansioso de mejorar sus condiciones económicas y sociales con bases firmes y con posibilidades de alcanzar en sus decisiones éxito incontrovertible.
