Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
Las publicaciones de la prensa nacional sobre la posibilidad de un arreglo de la deuda externa ecuatoriana relacionada con la construcción del ferrocarril del Sur, a base de una fórmula ya aceptada por el Consejo de Tenedores de Bonos de Londres, y por el Consejo Protector de Tenedores Extranjeros de Bonos , de New York, pero cuyo perfeccionamiento requeriría la aprobación del Congreso Nacional del Ecuador, ha despertado un innegable interés general, lo que nos mueve a publicar este pequeño estudio, a fin de ofrecer a la opinión pública nacional una visión esquemática de lo que ha significado la política de empréstitos extranjeros para el desarrollo económico del Ecuador y difundir el conocimiento de este importante capítulo de la vida económica nacional.
