Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinosa Pólit.
Es de suma importancia para el Ecuador el haber levantado el Primer Censo Nacional de Población, el mismo que habiendo seguido las normas de la técnica, para esta clase de investigaciones, puede considerarse la base más firme y efectiva sobre la cual deben seguirse las series estadísticas, especialmente las de carácter demográfico indispensables para saber el crecimiento de la población: nacimientos, defunciones, matrimonios, divorcios, causas de muerte, etc., etc., y los factores que influyen en estos fenómenos; todo lo cual constituye material de gran valor para los estudios de índole demográfico y social.
