Effective cooperation and its application in the ecuadorian criminal procedura

Abstract

The implementation of effective cooperation is one of the current and most controversial issues, not only for actors in the criminal justice system but also for the public at large, due to the consequences of its application on the reduction of the penalty and on the ideal citizens’ access to justice. Given this idea, from the field of procedural law, it is  essential to give a technical answer regarding its application
and the incidence of the information provided by the cooperators in the use of this tool, as well as its importance in dismantling criminal structures. Based on these
clarifications throughout this article, we will try to make an approximation of its application from the perspective of the Integral Penal Organic Code.
