Abstract
Este artículo fue escaneado por la Biblioteca Ecuatoriana Aurelio Espinoza Pólit.
"La pandilla de los cuatro", Hong Kong, Singapur, Corea del Sur y Taiwan, se ha puesto como ejemplo del modelo de desarrollo que debe seguir Amérca Latina, para cuyos países se han querido derivar enseñanzas de Asia Oriental; incluso, el Banco Mundial organizó para los funcionarios de Gobierno latinoamericanos el seminario: "La experiencia de Corea en el desarrollo de la industria y el comercio: Lecciones para América Latina". Ello es lógico, a la luz del magnífico comportamiento económico de los países de Asia Oriental -sobre todo en los años ochenta- en terminos de crecimiento del PIB, producción industrial, exportación de manufacturas, empleo, distribución del ingreso, inflación y servicio de la deuda.
