Abstract

It is well known that in Latin American countries the data obtained from registries suffer from coverage and content errors. It could be said that registries in relation to coverage are almost always worse in the case of deaths than in the case of births, which makes it more difficult to know the real mortality levels of a population under these conditions than its fertility.
