Abstract

Durante los últimos cinco años el Ecuador viene desarrollando considerablemente la producción y exportación de bananos. En los últimos años de 1950 y 1951 esta fruta logró ocupar los mejores puestos en el valor de las exportaciones del país, pasando a ocupar el primer lugar en 1952 con 17 millones de racimos que equivalen a 423,5 mil toneladas métricas, lo que le significó al Ecuador un ingreso del exterior de más de treinta millones de dólares, incluyendo los valores no declarados.
