The financial logic of dependency. Theoretical elements and a brief aplication for Argentina and Brazil
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article aims to contribute to the literature on dependency theory and subordinate financialization in peripheral countries, with a brief application to contextualize the cases of Argentina and Brazil. After reviewing the conceptual innovations that allow connecting dependency theory with financialization theories, we selected a set of indicators to assess the subordinate condition of both countries. We argue that Argentina and Brazil exhibit distinct characteristics of subordinate financialization, related to their form of insertion into the global market
