La influencia del embarazo y de la preeclampsia sobre la presión infraocular requiere mayores investigaciones
Resumen
La presión intraocular muestra variaciones en la mujer embarazada, con una disminución más marcada durante el tercer trimestre de gestación. Sin embargo, este comportamiento es distinto en las mujeres embarazadas con preeclampsia, en quienes por el contrario parece ocurrir un incremento en las cifras de la PIO. Futuras investigaciones que profundicen en el tema podrían servir para comprender mejor la utilidad potencial de los tratamientos hormonales en la hipertensión infraocular y el glaucoma.
