El Auxograma para el diagnósitco del crecimiento físico y la desnutrición

Resumen

Ante la necesidad de conocer nuestra realidad para transformarla, y teniendo en cuenta, por un' lado, que el crecimiento físico de los niños está ampliamente reconocido como un índice sensible de la salud y nutrición de una población (Jordán 1975, 1977, 1979; Tanner 1966, 1976; Morley 1973; Eveleth 1976; Faulhaber 1976; Sabry 1977; Behar 1977; FAO 1977; Cameron 1978) y por otro lado, que la antropometría (parte de la Auxología, de "auxos" crecimiento) está considerada como la mejor herramienta para el diagnóstico del estado nutricional (Jelliffe 1966; Meredith 1969; Malina 1972; Kohn 1973; Burguess 1975; Seoane 1977; Roña 1978; Waterlow 1972, 1973, 1977; González 1982), propusimos en 1980 el instrumento metodológico-técnico denominado ¡AUXOGRAMA, para el diagnóstico clínico y epidemiológico del crecimiento infantil y la desnutrición.
