Abstract




El presente artículo aborda los temas: el discurso y la disciplina médica, específicamente, el discurso de la prensa sobre el tratamiento de cáncer en niños y niñas. En ese sentido, esta es una investigación sobre la prensa nacional, cuya temporalidad fue de un año de seguimiento para exponer la frecuencia, visibilización/invisibilización, tratamiento y representación de los infantes que padecen de cáncer. De ese modo, se busca establecer la relación discursiva sobre el dispositivo médico y la forma en que es erigida por medio de los diarios nacionales como un tema con particularidades de interés limitados, reafirmación de roles de género y banalización del cáncer.

Both the Medicine as a discipline and its discourse are studied, hereby, using the analysis of the press discourse which is focused on cancer treatment on children. This research is a year-long review of the frequency, visibility / invisibility, treatment and portrayal of infants with cancer in the National Press. Thereby, this analysis seeks to establish (1) the narrative of the Medical science dispositif and (2) the way this narrative is structured by the national written media when considering that it describes the topic by means of features such as a limited interest, male and female stereotypes and the trivialization of cancer.
