INGENIO Journal is an specialized dissemination tool of the Faculty of Engineering,  and Applied Sciencies of Central University of Ecuador. Its objective is the dissemination of technical and scientific research in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering / Information Systems, Engineering in Industrial Design and Engineering in Computer Graphics / Computing, Mechanical Engineering and other branches of Engineering, Industry and Construction. In addition, ​​Science Technology and Society area is included.

It is biannual and is aimed to people who are immersed in both academic and industrial fields and who may be interested in learning about topics and research carried out within the scope of the journal.

The articles in INGENIO Journal use DOI system which provides a technical and social infrastructure for the registration and use of persistent interoperable identifiers for use in digital networks.

INGENIO Journal is indexed in the Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal (LATINDEX 2. 0), Regional Online Network of Scientific Journals of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal (REDALYC), Ibero-American Network of Innovation and Scientific Knowledge (REDIB), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and is part of the Information Matrix for the Analysis of Journals (MIAR), Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE), Directory of Research Journals Indexing (DRJI), a complete and multipurpose database covering academic literature, with indexed records of active and authorized journals in repositories, libraries and specialized catalogs in Ibero-America.

INGENIO Journal is attached to Google Scholar, which is a Google search engine focused and specialized in the search for scientific-academic content and bibliography.

SCOPE

The articles part of INGENIO Journal are prepared under high standards of high technical and scientific quality prepared by members of the academic and professional community, which are the results of research projects, technological developments or simulations in all areas of science and engineering, as well as, review and update articles, or other works that contribute to the evolution of knowledge and development.

PERIODICITY

It is biannual. (Number 1: January-June /Number 2: July-December).
In the case of special volumes, they are properly identified.
The estimated publication period is 12 to 16 weeks.

EROGATIONS
INGENIO Journal does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs). Papers published in this journal are available in open access at no additional cost to the authors.

DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

Central University of Ecuador has a server where its contents are saved, and whose management is covered by the Information Security Policy of the Information Technologies and Telecommunications Department (DTIC).

INTEROPERABILITY POLICY
INGENIO Journal publications incorporate interoperability protocols that allow their contents to be collected by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and harvesters. Journals published through OJS (Open Journals System 3.1.2.4) incorporate the interoperability protocol OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) with the possibility of obtaining different formats for metadata.
