The disruption of sexual education programs and the reduction in the availability of services and contraceptives during the global health crisis pose significant challenges that could increase rates of teenage pregnancy. Although motivational interviewing has proven effective in addressing other health issues, its application in teenage pregnancy prevention is limited. This study underscores the need for a comprehensive review to address effectiveness, limitations, and methodological challenges in this area. Drawing upon the PRISMA 2020 Statement, six relevant studies were identified, providing valuable insights to enhance care and promote healthy behaviors related to contraception, suggesting a pathway towards more effective and user-centered interventions to reduce rates of unintended pregnancy among young women.
