Abstract

Cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and diet is an important modifiable factor in its prevention. Yogurt, a fermented dairy product rich in probiotics, proteins, vitamins, and bioactive compounds, has been associated with multiple health benefits. Several studies and meta-analyses in adults have shown that yogurt consumption may reduce the risk of various cancers, including lung, colorectal, bladder, prostate, breast, liver, and upper aerodigestive tract cancers. Although pediatric evidence remains limited, yogurt may also provide benefits for children with cancer and warrants further investigation to better understand its preventive and therapeutic potential.
