Abstract

Within the framework of the profound historical inequalities, political crises, and social tensions that shape Ecuador and Latin America, this issue of the Journal reaffirms philosophy and the social sciences as indispensable tools for critically understanding reality and contesting the meanings that organize collective life. In the face of the progressive silencing of the humanities and the hegemony of technocratic logics, the creation of the Philosophy program at the Universidad Central del Ecuador is highlighted as an act of intellectual resistance and as a necessary condition for educating generations capable of interrogating the contemporary world.
