Abstract

The problem of technology is not a new one; it has been part of philosophical and scientific inquiry since the sixteenth century. During that century, the technification of production fostered the development of capitalism and became deeply embedded in social life. In recent decades, and even more so in recent years, this technification has acquired a pervasive presence in everyday life through the mass diffusion of information and communication technologies, the increasingly widespread use of smart devices, social media, the cyber world, and simulation-based video games centered on war and everyday life.
