The FIGEMPA: Investigación y Desarrollo journal is committed to complying with and respecting ethical standards at all stages of the publication process. The authors of the published articles will comply with the ethical principles contained in the different declarations and laws on intellectual property and copyright specific to the country where the research was conducted. Consequently, the authors of the articles submitted and accepted to publish, which present research results, must sign the declaration of originality.
The FIGEMPA: Investigación y Desarrollo journal recognizes and adopts the principles of transparency and best practiceded by COPE, "Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing" (2022).
The editorial team is obliged to keep confidential about the articles received, and to refrain from using data, arguments or interpretations in its own investigations until the article is published. It must also be impartial and manage the items appropriately and within the prescribed timeframes. The selection of reviewers will be made with objectivity and they must respond to the subject of the article.
The publisher, authors and reviewers should follow the international ethical standards defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in order to avoid cases of:
- Manufacture, forgery or omission of data.
- Plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
- Redundant, duplicate, or fragmented publishing.
- Skipping references to the queried sources.
- Use of content without permission or without justification.
- Individual appropriation of collective authorship.
- Changes of authorship.
- Conflict of Interest (CDI) not disclosed or declared.
- Others that may arise in the research and publication process.
The production of results is generated by displaying data invented by the authors; counterfeiting results when data is manipulated and changed at the whim of authors; omission originates when the authors deliberately hide a fact or data. Plagiarism occurs when an author presents as ideas own data created by others. The cases of plagiarism are as follows: direct copy ing-inquotation text or cite the source, modification of some words of the text, paraphrases and lack of gratitude; self-plagiarism occurs when the same author reuses his own material that has already been published, but without indicating the reference to the previous work. The magazine relies on digital tools (URKUND) that detect any of these cases in the nominated articles, and it is the work of editors and reviewers to ensure originality and fidelity in the citation. Redundant or duplicate publication refers to the total, partial or altered copy of a work already published by the same author.
In case of suspicion of any misconduct it is recommended to follow the flowcharts prepared by COPE (2024), in order to determine the corresponding actions.
