Modeling and numerical simulation of oil transportation by the transecuadorian oil pipeline
Main Article Content
Abstract
The factual sciences establish mathematical processes and models which allow explaining a wide number of conditions and situations on everyday life; One of them, has been implemented through the application of technological resources, such as the case presented on this article where it is established as the research objective to simulate the transport of oil by the Trans-Ecuadorian Pipeline System (SOTE), applying a methodological procedure based on the elaboration of a mathematical model, numerical scheme, design of algorithms and development of software, which implementation allows, as a result, the obtaining of an “oil transport simulator in an oil pipeline with an isothermal fluid with dilution, guided by a system of differential equations”. This model is based on the principles of laws of and piping hydraulics. The pressure velocity solution of these equations is approximated due the method of central finite differences from which as table numerical scheme is obtained. That is how, it is concluded that the procedure developed contributes to the generation of virtual scenarios that allow simulating the transport of heavy crude by mixing with lighter crude or diluents through the SOTE, thus minimizing the risk of affecting the Pipeline System Trans-Ecuadorian and the environmental impact.
