Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine how long the ideological left and right survive in government in Latin America and Ecuador, taking into account the regional advance of the right. The methods for this analysis are: first, a survival model based on the political ideology of the governments of the region and Ecuador in the 21st century; and the second is the review of specialized and current literature in the field. The study shows that the right survives longer in power at the Latin American level, on average 5,000 days, while the left survives 3,000 days. In the Ecuadorian case, the survival results are similar
