Material and methods: the scientific production registered in the Scopus database was analyzed, the presence of active structured research groups, the projects in execution and the participation in networks of cooperation and specialized collaboration.
Discussion: the scientific research reflected in the scientific production has increased with a significant rebound in the last four years; in parallel, as an alternative to diversify specialized training.
Conclusion: between 2008 and 2017, 362 scientific articles were published in the FCM-UCE; there are 8 active research groups exclusive to the FCM; between 2014 and 2017, 159 research projects were registered
