Abstract

The correct evaluation of semen is essential for good reproductive advice; The seminal analysis performed in assisted reproduction centers is multifunctional and includes the assessment of the fertile potential that allows choosing the most convenient assisted reproduction procedure for the patient, directs additional tests to establish the causes of male infertility and guarantees the safety of the use of seminal samples for reproductive purposes. The objective of the document is to explain the role, advantages, limitations of semen analysis and its application in the reproductive council, according to current guidelines.
