Abstract

The entrance to a Public University in Ecuador has become a challenge, mainly because there are new legal dispositions that have modified the behavior of the high schools, as much as for the non-participation of the same Institutions of Superior Education. It is sought to make a historical revision of immediate past in Facultad de Ingeniería en Geología, Minas, Petróleos y Ambiental of the Universidad Central, as describing the current traffic from the high school to the superior education and a critical presentation of results obtained in leveling of careers of the period 2015-2016. The communication on the part of the Secretaría Nacional de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación in that it is sought that the two Institutions are co-responsible of the admission and leveling to future, are of high importance to size the responsibility that will be acquired and with they are foreseen it the measures to take. A revision of previous results, to understand and in detail high school’s profile that they offer the Colleges to the Society, as well as to define that knowledge and abilities require these careers, it will allow that the leveling course is adjusted to guarantee better promotion levels in first semester of the aforementioned careers. It is wanted to ratify that the leveling course should have a very high dedication to the basic subjects of sciences, these are: mathematics, physics and chemistry; it bases fundamental for the engineering, it is sought that at least 90% of the load horary of the course will be in charge of the described subjects, and to supplement with other necessary activities for the understanding and adaptation of the university life and that they motivate the vocation of the high schools it is to ratify its election or so that on time you can revise the decision.
