Revista de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas [Rev Fac Cien Med (Quito)] dates back to 1932, publishing its first volume and issue under the name Archivos de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas until 1950, when the journal adopted its current name.

Revista de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas (Quito) is currently the medium for disseminating the scientific production in health from the Central University of Ecuador. It publishes scientific manuscripts and communications in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, on topics related to medical and health sciences, medical education, epidemiology, health policies, and health economics. It is published three times a year, although it may occasionally publish special issues on particular topics.
