Rehabilitación estética de diente supernumerario en la dentición primaria: reporte de caso

Abstract

Supernumerary teeth are described as abnormalities in the number of teeth due to excessive activity of dental lamina. These can be single or multiple, unilateral or bilateral, malformed or normal in size and shape, erupting or impacted. Among the aesthetic treatment possibilities for anatomically compromised teeth we have the aesthetic rehabilitation. Patient, 4 years old female came to the clinic of the Dental School of São Leopoldo Mandic accompanied by her mother, after medical history was clinical examination where an abnormal mobility was observed in tooth 61. For better diagnosis, a modified occlusal radiograph was performed where it was detected the presence of supernumerary tooth in the region of the upper incisors. In return visit, the patient had the tooth 61 exfoliated and supernumerary erupting process with tooth characteris-tics conoid, the proposed treatment aesthetic rehabilitation of supernumerary with composite resin and strip crowns. This procedure made it possible to re-establish the harmony of simple and efficient smile, in addition to patient satisfaction and responsible regarding the aesthetic smile.
