Tratamiento de superficie en restauraciones de zirconia para hacer más confiable su adhesion. Reporte de dos casos clínicos: seguimiento a corto plazo

Este informe de 2 casos describe la mejor manera de establecer una unión química entre la zirconia (3 Y-TZP) y un cemento resinoso. Los investigadores han descubierto que un tratamiento superficial ideal de esta cerámica, considerada químicamente inerte, debería realizarse mediante un arenado triboquímico, seguido de silano y un agente adhesivo a base de 10 MDP. Materiales y Métodos: Dos puentes de 3 Y-TZP fueron preparados en pacientes que, no querían someterse a un tratamiento convencional. Lo puentes se cementaron, siguiendo el protocolo recomendado. Se hizo un seguimiento de dos años y medio para ver su evolución. Resultados: La combinación del arenado triboquímico más los primers cerámicos, lograron proporcionar una adhesión confiable a esta cerámica cristalina. No se observaron despegamientos, ni ningún tipo de sensibilidad postoperatoria. Los pacientes no experimentaron ninguna dificultad en ninguna de sus funciones orales durante todo este tiempo. Conclusiones: Se comprobó que es posible adherir químicamente y de forma confiable la 3 Y-TZP, incluso en casos extremos en los que es imposible optar por realizar tratamientos tradicionales de prótesis fija.
