Edentulism is a problem that affects the quality of life, caused by many factors, the most common being advanced age, periodontal disease, endodontic failures or dental fractures. However, there are rehabilitation treatments such as dentures and overdentures that seek to restore the aesthetics and function of the stomatognathic system. To collect information about treatments for total edentulism to compare its clinical effectiveness through its application in patients. We present two clinical cases: patient A, a 65-year-old female who came at the Universidad de las Américas (UDLA) dental center with total edentulism of the upper and lower arches; patient B, 65-year-old male, who presented total edentulism in the upper arch. The proposed treatment was aesthetic and functional, with a conventional total prosthesis in case A and upper and lower overdenture in case B, respectively. The clinical treatments carried out successfully restored the functionality and harmony in the mouth, achieving patient comfort and satisfaction.Downloads
