No. 7 (2022): Sociology and Politics TODAY
The journal "Sociology and Politics TODAY", is a publication of the Network of Sociology and Political Science Careers of Ecuador. This issue aims to discuss the "Trades and practices of Sociology and Political Science in Ecuador."
Although there are not a few advances and routes that these disciplines have had in the country, since 1914, when the first Sociology chair was taught, and since the creation of the first School of Political Sciences in 1960. However, we have had little reflection on the ways of producing knowledge, the articulation of local debates with the Latin American and global academy, the formation of new cohorts of social scientists, the publications we produce, the methodologies we use, the rigorous criteria with which we operate, the professional and labor fields that we occupy, etc.
For this reason, this number includes contributions for a sociology of sociology: a reflection that takes up both an inventory and a sociohistorical perspective of the evolution of the disciplines and their links, as well as a prospective of the challenges facing the social sciences in the country.
